Hello Summer and Sun, which I love, don't get me wrong, but the exposure on my skin while I'm surfing needs to be protected. And sun screen just isn't enough. My questions are: Is there a clothing top made to be worn in the water other then a rash guard that has a nice style to it? Are there leggings I can wear that will look nice and protect the skin on my legs? Of course I want to look somewhat decent in my SUP outfit, yet at my age (55) thankfully I have an excuse to cover up, lol!

Good question Alicia! I'll post this in the discussion section of the Gear Talk group. I have some thoughts but not sure it's exactly what you're looking for. Check it out!

Alicia,
Victory KoreDry makes some nice gear. Comfortable, waterproof, SPF 50.

Alicia,
I am with Victory Koredry and we do have some women's items that you may want to check out at Victorykoredry.com. Our line is based on out waterproof and breathable fabrics especially the loosefit which works well for SUP. The Wetsi line is very nice as well and they make some very cute pieces especially if you want a little more warmth and like a tighter fit.

I'm looking for a new paddle and I could use some advice. I'm currently using a 9" Quickblade and I think the blade is just too big for me (I'm a 5'8 - 130 lb girl). I just can't get my cadence up. So...... I'm looking at the Werner Nitro or Riviera's Danny Ching paddle. help!!!

A smaller blade for those who like that sort o' thing from the legendary manufacturer.

Andre NiemeyerAndre Niemeyer on Sunday, 02 January 2011 09:09

Yes, that's way to big of a blade! Go smaller on the blade and it will go much easier on your shoulder and back. Something like a 7.5" blade should be more like it.

I will make you the best paddle you could ever imagine or not even imagine. I have a great size and shape. I would go 8.25" x 20" in my shape to provide ease and speed. With this shape you will go faster easier with the option of burring the entire blade for emergency speed.. Try PaddleHi.com. I would love to make you one custom from Big Island.
