Kalamalka Lake, BC East Hampton NY Morro Bay, CA 101 places to sup

Videos

The Okanagan region in BC, Canada is destined to become the hotspot for both Flatwater and River SUP. We're in Vernon, BC and our city is home to both Kalamalka and Okanagan lakes. Kalamalka is the gem of them all and voted one the worlds Most Beautiful Lakes by National Geographic! Plus, the Shuswap and Similkameen River systems serve up everything from slow current to class III Rapids, ideal for SUP. A short trip to the coast and over to Vancouver Island will get you to Tofino and some great surfing. Check out www.oksup.com to see some pics and video. Enjoy eh!

I hope everyone can get a chance to paddle the nearly endless natural intercoastal rivers and salt water creeks here in South Carolina. That includes the numerous barrier islands all around us in Pawleys Island.
Anyone passing through thats wants a tour please let me know. It would be a pleasure, plus we might pick up some surf if were lucky !!
p.s. sleepy gators in the winter and no bugs biting. surf is usually very good in the fall and winter. "Surf the Earth" is our local surf shop here in Pawleys. They have a complete and well stocked rental fleet as well ! www.surf-the-earth.com

I'm getting ready to take a trip up to Northern Spain and am going to SUP Surf Sopelana, Bakio, and maybe... just maybe.... Mundaka. Sopelana is supposed to be very consistant with good quality. Weather won't be ideal, but I could care less. My wetsuit will keep me warm enough.

I can't wait to get out there and experience the legendary waves in the Basque country of Spain. I'll be sure to have my brother snap a bunch of pics.

Dude snap some pix so you can post them up when you get back and I will throw the spots up under the discussions! Have a safe trip.

Morro Bay on the central California coast! Great surf and a 4 mile long by 2 mile wide protected estuary separated by a few hundred yards of sand. Something for everyone. Best time of year to visit is Fall and early Winter, like right now! In fact I've had three great paddles in the last two days, all within 3 miles of one another, and all different!

Here on the East End of Long Island we have so much to chose from, the ocean, the multitude of Bays, rivers, and creeks. Labor day weekend there is a fundraising race from Montauk NY to Block Island, RI. We have whales, dolphins, seals and of course the occasional shark. I stay in the bays.

This is a great idea for a group, thanks for adding it. My husband was just asking how I felt about taking a trip to Key West, well now that I know there are resources for me to SUP while there, I like the idea more and more!

Here in San Diego area we have a gorgeous coastline for touring and fishing, bays for activities and exercise, and great surf spots.

The gray whales are migrating south to Mexico now and one of our open water swimmer friends spotted one recently between the quarter mile and half mile buoys!

Some of the SUP crew just North of us paddled out with the blue whales recently.

SUP offers so much adventure, can't wait to hear more stories!

That is so cool! It would be so amazing to SUP next to a whale, I would be scared. Man there are so many places I want to go! Where is your fav spot?
