Nominated by - Rob Casey

Kauai native Bobby Arzadon apprenticed under Dick Brewer, Ron House and others and has been working with surfboards since his teens. Relocating to the Seattle area twenty years ago he opened the Perfect Wave Surf Shop and has been shaping and teaching shaping ever since. In recent years, Bobby has gained a reputation for shaping SUPs and now has a full line of boards ranging from ripping 9’ boards up to fast touring and racing 18’ boards. Seahawks coach Pete Carroll purchased Bobby’s 12-6 pointy noised SUP earlier this month.

Randy French, head shaper and founder of Surftech has been shaping since the 60's, and introduced composite construction to the surf world in 1989. In 2005 Randy brought that technology to the SUP world by partnering with SUP legend Laird Hamilton and putting the very first SUP into production. Randy now shapes all of Jamie Mitchell and Candice Appleby's surf SUPs.

RF continues to lead the charge in advancing the technology that is the backbone of the industry. Visit surftechsup.com and find your next board!

My vote goes to Mike Tessier because he's making lake specific boards.

No surprise here. Our YOLOBoard mentor Steve Brom is my choice! Steve has been shaping all sorts of watercraft for decades including but not limited to design at Dino SurfBoards, Ocean Kayak and many many others. He is a true artist and a throw back to days where hard work and pride went into every single board. When not shaping, you'll find him at races shooting hundreds of photos of his baby's in action and then heading home to make tiny detail changes for the next board. His "adoption" of YOLO has given us a clear direction for the future and we couldn't be more stoked! If your not familiar with Steve's work, watch for the new 12'6 YOLO Preditor and 14' Prowler this spring.if you were not a fan, you will be!

Jimmy Lewis gets my vote.

He celebrated his 40th year of board building in 2010 and has not only the best shaped boards on the water, but they also have the best finishing and performance.

With 25 different standup shapes, no other manufacturer has the range of boards that he does.

Jimmy is not only a great shaper, but he passes his wealth of knowledge on to others, and no other person I know of, has the karma he does.

Bruno Meignen from ordgyboards should be the guy! because he is crazy enough to shape the most versatile board ever. I love mines. His research took him as far as shaping no stringer boards, extremely strong with a lot of flex!... The first board he made me was à 7"6, round nose. He doesn't make a lot of boards but he his working with bamboo, organic glass and other cool stuff. To find the best material that fit SUP boards. Plus he does his own tint resin paddles!
