Cindy Stokes,

Steve and Barrie Boehne should be awarded SUP COUPLE OF THE YEAR. They have contributed to the surfing community around the world since the 1960's starting with their love of tandem surfing. But not only have they competed in such a competitive sport that almost died out but shared their passion and taught others to continue to keep Tandem Surfing Alive. They display such great enthusiasm, great charisma, and humbleness to everyone. They are very experienced waterman's and display love and patience to all whom they teach. Not only did they master tandem surfing, they continued to strive and develop NEW trends in the water and land sport such as TANDEM SUP, TANDEM SURFING, SUP SURFING/RACE AND TOURING, LONGBOARDING, SHORTBOARDING, WAVE-SKI, AND TANDEM SKATEBOARDING. Not only should they be awarded SUP COUPLE OF THE YEAR BUT COUPLE OF THE DECADE. Thank you Steve and Barrie for your love for one another but your love, devotion, dedication, time and contribution to the wonderful sport of SURFING! On behalf of the tandem surfing community around the world our vote goes to the Boehne's!! Mahalo and Aloha!!!

Roray and Uilani Kam, SUP Couple- RK Ocean Gear - Sunshine SUP Series benefitting 'Surfers for Autism' are SO inspiring. They give of themselves to the communities/world both on the job and through SUP and surf! They share with such enthusiasm. I watched Uilani teach an 84 yr old woman to SUP with such care and kindness a few years back. Her smiles were priceless! Roray positively influenced my son who is newly-now in the Navy (his last civy day at a Kam event)and just made Athletic Commander of his Division!

Just a few moments of the many many hours, days and years the Kam's have given sharing the STOKE!

Mitch and Katie get my vote for SUP couple. Going to Mitch's Surf Shop in La Jolla and meeting them resulted in my being put on the best boards, guided with positive professionalism, and taught SUP surfing with accurate eyes and years of experience. The bonus is they are very nice people.

Yes - Lots of amazing couples. First place, though, are Nikki and Dan. They've promoted great etiquette and safety, and trained from beginner to winning athletes, maintaining the balance of strength and flexibility. They do this both in person through excellent workshops, and through their great videos. And both are incredible athletes with amazing accomplishments on their own, as well as supporting each other as a couple. Each has also grown from their partners strengths. Nikki and Dan are genuine in encouraging everyone around them to enjoy and excel with SUP.
