need an affordable, durable, light, adj. paddle for a rental fleet - thoughts?

What have you tried and how did you like it? This year I had the NSP Trident adjustable. Retails for $129. Plastic and aluminum - heavy, and some sank. I tried some at the Surf Expo demo day, but lost track of who had what, how good they were, and at what price.

I wouldn't go with aluminum because they will wear you out faster... you'll notice it the more you paddle! Carbon fiber is always really nice and light, yet powerful. The Tower one is really great for that price too! It's usually around $300 for carbon fiber paddles.

Epic has a carbon fiber adjustable paddle. it's super light. We sell them for $235 which is really pretty cheap for carbon fiber! But i've tried the quickblades and their really sweet too. They aren't all carbion fiber but the fiberglass they're made of is much more durable than the plastic ones. We've had plastic ones crack straight down the center of the blade (when misused) but that's never fun to deal with!

check out the werner paddles. the company can set you up with an instructor account. i use the Carve's for instruction, and have used werner for many years as a kayaker. their adjustable paddles don't have the thick bracket thing around the shaft which is also helpful and more comfortable to paddle with.
