Travelling with SUP equipment
Discussion started by Hacky , on 10 February 02:48 AM
I am looking for information concerning flying with SUP equipment - boards and paddles. Flight companys don´t realy have valid infos - especially not on their homepages and travel agencies are mostly clueless as well. Some want to ship my equipment by cargo some say it´s possible to send with a normal flight as sport equipment. I am very thankfull for any "Real life" information regarding this topic as i plan to travel with my equipment.

3 piece werner paddle and an inflatable fly just fine as a casual tourer and "resistance trainer".

I had to create a new account - as the token send to me was 5 times invalid...

I am still curious about the information regarding SUP luggage and travelling with SUP equipment ... is there any "pro - traveller" who wants to share his experiences .... ???

highly appreciated!!!

Hi Hacky, most racers I know have their gear shipped their boards as cargo, not by plane. Non-racers can always use inflatables. The Shubu's by Boardworks, for instance, come with a backpack that allows you to check in just like lugagge. But for bigger boards, esp race boards, looking for freight rates is probably your best bet.
