Hey, everyone - I'd like to try fishing off my SUP at the local lake, but I can't spend a lot of $. I'd like to make stuff at home that's cheap. I've been thinking about putting a milk crate with pole holders to either hold my tackle or hanging a pocket on the outside of the crate for tackle. Not sure if I should put my catch inside the milk crate - need to keep it fresh - but not wild about the idea of a cooler, too, as the wind will use it as a sail. Any suggestions as to how to keep a fish cold and fresh without using a cooler?

Hi Susan, I have a friend of mine who regularly fishes off his SUP. He bungee cords a milk crate to the back of the board and stands his fishing pole up in it (somehow - prob more bungee cord action). He also brings a small cooler with him (but I think its more for the beer than the fish;). When he catches something, he soaks a towel, throws the fish in the crate and covers it with the wet towel until he gets back to shore.
