VENTNOR HEIGHTS, N.J. — A 5.7-mile paddleboard race and 2.5-mile fun paddle is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 5, at 10am in Ventnor Heights. All proceeds from a $30 registration fee and $20 after-party (fee for non-paddlers; paddlers attend free), T-shirt and merchandise sales, sponsorship and donations will benefit Hurricane Sandy victims through the Waves 4 Water’s Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund. sean duffey
Sign-ups are at 10am at the Viking Rowing Club, Surrey and Calvert avenues in Ventnor, and the race and fun paddle begin 11am from the club. The after-party will take place at Tomatoe’s in Margate from 2-5pm and will include great food, music and a cash bar. According to event organizer Sean Duffey, several of the top paddlers will be flying in from the West Coast and around the country to attend.
