MIAMI, Florida - The Orange Bowl Paddle Championship will take place on the US East Coast tomorrow in Miami on January 13th, 2013. There will be both a 3 mile and a 7 mile course.

According to the Orange Bowl website this is an official, 'World Paddle Association event… powered by Jimmy Lewis (and) will include competitive and amateur paddleboarders, including more than 100 Big Brothers and Big Sisters with their "Littles."'

The main event will take place at the Bayside marketplace which is in downtown Miami at 401 Biscayne Boulevard.  The busy mainstream location will hopefully allow many non SUPers to see and participate in all the fun.  Hopefully this will help expose and expand the sport!

Also, prior to race day, media have been invited to have a paddleboard lesson from Brenda Lowe who is the Paddleboard Miami founder and former contestant on Survivor: Nicaragua.  Florida's very own Packet Casy, the most winning east coast paddler, will also attend  and contribute to this pre-day event.
