The 2013 ISA World Stand Up Paddle and Paddleboard Championships in Miraflores, Lima, Peru beginning today February 24, 2013.

LIMA, Peru - The International Surfing Association will be hosting the Second Annual World Stand Up Paddle and Paddleboard Championships in Miraflores, Lima, Peru beginning today February 24, 2013 and lasting through March 2, 2013.

The first Championships in 2012 were also held in Lima, Peru and Australia was a shining star as they took home six out of 11 possible Gold medals for individuals and also won the team relay.  There were also many other individual stand outs and this year the ISA has said that there will be over 120 stand up paddlers and paddleboarders who will compete.  Click here to see who all the competing athletes will be.

The events this year will include: 

1. SUP Surfing - Men will have 2 per country & the women will have 1 per country

2. SUP Racing - Men will have 2 per country & the women will have 1 per country

***There will be both a Technical and Distance Race

3.  Paddleboard Racing -  Men will have 2 per country & the women will have 1 per country

***There will be both a Technical and Distance Race

4. Paddle Relay - This will include four athletes from the same country consisting of 1 SUP racing man and woman and 1 paddleboard man and woman.
