SAN DIEGO, California - The 2012 Summer Olympic Games began on Wednesday July 25th and will conclude on Sunday August 12th. With 4 days left in the overall competition we have already seen amazing performances and have heard stories about athletes who have overcome incredible odds and sacrificed beyond belief to go for the gold. Surely there will be more of this to come before the closing ceremonies and it is safe to bet that anyone who has been following the Olympic reports and media coverage has been inspired in some way, shape or form.
Keeping the aforementioned in mind, what we want to know is how stand up paddle has helped you go for the gold. What personal battles and obstacles have you overcome through SUP and what have you won and gained from being a SUPer? From losing weight, to fighting cancer, setting new world records and paddling to support a great cause, we've heard many of your stories but now is the time to write them down and send them our way!
Supconnect is working on a compilation of true paddle stories to serve as motivation for all of us. They will be a reminder of just how great our sport is and that staying SUPconnected can really help spread the stoke. Being truly plugged in to the SUP world gives us a chance to help, encourage and inspire one another.
