Costa Rica, Nosara

NOSARA, Costa Rica - Experience Nosara is, "a stand up paddle and adventure company" located in Costa Rica.  Recently they partnered with Southern California Stand up Paddle specialist / Co-Owner of Infinity SUP and recent cast member of the movie H2Indo, Dave Boehne, to put together a SUP camp which will focus on SUP surf coaching for intermediate to advanced paddlers in the tropical waters of Costa Rica.  So why should you be so interested in this Costa Rica sup surf get away?

Costa Rica is located in central America and borders the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean which is between 8 and 12 degrees north of the Equator.  Nicaragua is north and Panama is to the south-southeast.  It is interesting to know that several islands are also a part of Costa Rica and that the climate is tropical year round.

According to surfingwaves.com, "Costa Rica is a legendary surfing location and is seen as more of a 'hardcore' surfing trip. Its geography makes it a classic surfing destination choice having two coastlines - the Caribbean and the Pacific - which both produce great waves and have quality surf spots. The Caribbean side has a short surfing season and produces large swells from tropical storms off Mexico. The Pacific coast has smaller but more consistent surf generated by low pressure systems located off New Zealand."

Nosara, the location of  this "Experience Nosara" trip, is in Guanacaste on the Northwest Pacific Coast of Costa Rica.  The main surf break is Playa Guiones which is a "world class" wave because of its consistency.  It is said that there is always a good to great wave to ride at that spot.  

Along with ideal surfing, Experience Nosara has also said that there is a blend of authenticity and luxury when off the water.  There are restaurants to choose from and the beach town offers plenty to see and do.  All in all, it sounds like it should be an excellent experience.

Finally it is important to know that working with Dave Boehne will be a really great experience.  He has knowledge not only about being on the water but also has a really unique and immense perspective about the surfboards and how different equipment can make your experience better.   It will be a great learning experience for anyone who chooses to participate.
